A new state-of-the-art youth center in Kawempe division will provide vocational training, computer literacy, and recreational facilities for over 500 young people annually.
Ripples of Resilience Uganda (RORU) is proud to announce the opening of its new Youth Empowerment Center in Kawempe division, Kampala. The center, which was officially launched on Saturday, will serve as a hub for vocational skills training, computer literacy programs, and youth development activities.
Facility Highlights
The center features a fully equipped computer lab with 30 workstations, a tailoring workshop with 20 industrial sewing machines, a woodworking shop, and a multipurpose hall for community events and training sessions.
"This center represents our commitment to investing in Uganda's youth," said the RORU Executive Director during the launch ceremony. "We believe that every young person deserves access to the skills and opportunities they need to build a successful future."
Programs Offered
- Six-month vocational training courses in tailoring, carpentry, and welding
- Computer literacy and digital skills training
- Entrepreneurship and business development workshops
- Life skills and mentorship programs
Registration for the first cohort is now open, with classes scheduled to begin next month. The center aims to train at least 500 young people annually.
